I had the pleasure of having Dr. Paupoo as my doctor for two pregnancies now. I was first directed to Dr. Paupoo by my insurance company, but I did not know a lot about him as I was new to the world of infertility. As an RN, I not only met many doctors through my clinicals while I was in school, but I now also interact with multiple doctors every day in my career. I have learned that while there are many great doctors, there are also very many that I would hope to never have to deal with on a personal basis. When I met Dr. Paupoo for our first appointment, I knew that I was meeting an amazing doctor.  I am so, so lucky to have crossed paths with this doctor! For years, I struggled with missing menstrual cycles, abnormal pain, and other unusual symptoms. I saw many doctors over the years who dismissed my concerns and told me not to worry until I wanted to get pregnant. Well, that time came, and not one doctor could help me figure out what was going on. I was faced with the grim possibility that I would never get pregnant. When I met Dr. Paupoo, he spent hours listening to my concerns and coming up with a plan for treatment. He spent time diagnosing me, running all the right labs and tests, and explaining what he was doing along the way. Because of his diligence, I was finally diagnosed with a combination of hypothalamic amenorrhea and PCOS, as well as endometriosis. He solved a puzzle that multiple other doctors had failed to put together. While this news was overwhelming, he was honest with me and together we came up with a plan. He performed surgery to help fix the endometriosis, and I recovered completely without any issues. A month later, my husband and I were pregnant after our first IUI with Dr. Paupoo. We were overjoyed! Dr. Paupoo genuinely shared in our joy, and was always appreciative and welcoming of updates as the pregnancy progressed and our precious baby was born. When it came time for us to expand our family further, I went back to Dr. Paupoo who discovered some uterine abnormalities that again other doctors had missed. Thanks to his superior ultrasound skills and diagnostic abilities, I was able to share these images with a high risk OB team that would follow me for my second pregnancy. Without Dr. Paupoo’s expertise, this would not have happened. I am forever grateful to Dr. Paupoo, and I consider him the best doctor that I have ever had. It is rare to meet a doctor who is both passionate about his work and about his patients, and can convey that with a great bedside manner. If it were not for Dr. Paupoo my husband and I would not be blessed to have our beautiful baby girl. You see, I am a very complicated case. I suffer from PCOS and endometriosis and never thought I would be able to conceive again after we were blessed with our son. We tried for years to have baby number 2. We tried everything from Clomid to Femara, to injectable hormones and IUI. We saw doctors in other states, I underwent many tests, procedures and surgeries and nothing worked. We were ready to give up when I found out about Dr. Paupoo and we thought we would give it one last chance. Dr. Paupoo is so thorough that he started from square one with me. I thought oh goodness I have to go through all of these tests again. But am I glad that I did, because as Dr. Paupoo, knows and understands  that even though there are textbooks that explain how to proceed with patients such as myself, not all patients are the same and Drs need to think outside of the box. We tried a few rounds of Clomid unsuccessfully and instead of wasting precious time we quickly moved on to the next plan. Even though I had already had surgery and was told everything was good Dr. Paupoo wanted to see for himself.  Needless to say I was shocked to learn what a mess I was on the inside. My right ovary had literally fused itself to my bowels and pretty much everything on my right side. When other Drs in the OR saw that they were hesitant to operate. Dr. Paupoo operated for hours and was able to fix everything, save my ovary and ensure that I was able and ready to conceive. This was at the end of September 2014. After my surgery we continued on with medication to help me ovulate and in March of 2015 I got my first positive pregnancy test in the over four years that we had been trying. I was in shock! I had all but given up hope but Dr. Paupoo told me that it was possible for me to conceive and he would do all that he could to make it happen. True to his word he never gave up hope even when my husband and I had.

Dr. Arasen Paupoo is a phenomenal Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility specialist, whose knowledge and experience far exceeds any other physician (including other academic infertility specialists) I have seen. He was not afraid to challenge the incorrect diagnoses I had been given, and dig deeper to unearth other contributing factors to my infertility that had been overlooked. Dr. Paupoo devotes a significant amount of time to each patient. He ensures his patients' understanding of procedures, diagnoses, and plans of care, providing detailed explanations, and backing up his decisions with supporting evidence. Although unheard of in most fertility clinics, I see Dr. Paupoo at each visit, instead of rotating physicians or nurse practitioners, which ensures my continuity of care. As someone who loves to independently research diagnoses and treatments, Dr. Paupoo never dismissed my ideas and instead carefully considered and provided rationales either for or against my suggestions. I underwent diagnostic imaging including a 3D ultrasound and MRI to confirm my uterine anomaly prior to surgery. Two radiologists incorrectly read my MRI. Dr. Paupoo was able to prove without question the correct diagnosis, a complete septate uterus, due to his superior ultrasound skills. I'm a complex infertility patient; I was born with a complete septate uterus and have extensive endometriosis, PCOS, blocked Fallopian tubes, and hormonal imbalance. As such,  Dr. Paupoo performed  two outpatient surgeries when  he removed the endometriosis, corrected my tubes, one of which was formed incorrectly at birth, removed my septum, and removed multiple polyps in my uterus. I had complete faith in Dr. Paupoo and healed without issue. I always felt at ease, as he provides his patients with his cell phone number in case of emergency. Dr. Paupoo has vast experience with all of these problems and is the reason I achieved a natural pregnancy, something other physicians told me I would never be able to experience.

Dr. Paupoo is an amazing doctor! We had seen other fertility specialists before being referred to him and it was a night and day difference. Dr. Paupoo spent more time with us at our first appointment than our previous doctor did the whole 6 months she was treating us. Thanks to Dr. Paupoo, my husband and I will soon be celebrating our twin boys' second birthday. After being labeled as having "unexplained infertility" by another doctor, Dr. Paupoo correctly predicted that I would be diagnosed with endometriosis before even examining me. Within weeks I was having surgery, and just three months and two IUIs later, I was pregnant with not just one, but two precious babies!

When every dr gave up on me or didn't care, you never questioned your ability of finding out the cause of my infertility problems. After being married for four years and struggling to get pregnant after three years,  I was referred to Dr. Paupoo by a close friend, and it's been a life changer since the day I met him. Dr. Paupoo is one of the best doctors I have ever met and been treated by.  He ensured we built confidence in him from our first consultation by sharing his knowledge with us as well as explaining all details to us. Dr. Paupoo always took his time to talk to us during each visit, it didn't matter how long our visit would take, but he made it clear that the most important was that we understood where he was coming from. He took his time to study my body and despite my PCOS, and all my lack of hope into motherhood,  he told me “Neissa you are easy to get pregnant, and if we don't get very careful with you, you'll end up with multiples". I had moments that I was not happy with his recommendations, but because of my trust in him, I knew they were the right ones for me. I have three children because of Dr. Paupoo. After consistently suffering miscarriages in the first trimester, that fact alone should speak volumes about his success as a doctor. The very people I love more than I can describe would not be part of my life without him. That would have been more than enough for me in terms of choosing a doctor to manage my reproductive healthcare for years to come. However, over the years his manner of patient care has wholly convinced me that if it were possible, I would have him be the only doctor I ever saw. For beyond his efficacy, never have I been to another doctor who took the trouble to get to know me such as he has taken, who shows genuine interest in my ideas and opinions, and who, instead of remaining at a distance, shares his own ideas and opinions so that I have always felt that I know him, too. After 7 years of trying on our own, 6 years of active treatment and more miscarriages than I like to count, we decided to give having a child one last try.  Thankfully, I ended up in Dr. Paupoo’s office.

Instead of immediately jumping to expensive and exhausting last-resort procedures, Dr. Paupoo took the time to do all of the tests required to help solve the puzzle of my medical issues- tests that no one else had done before  starting treatments. He found an issue with my uterus that no one knew was there.   After several more tests and a surgery, we worked with Dr. Paupoo to come up with a plan to conceive a baby without extreme measures. Within a few months, I was pregnant and now we have a beautiful four year old daughter!

I would highly recommend Dr. Paupoo to anyone in need of a reproductive endocrinologist. When I first saw Dr. Paupoo I was a mess!  I had just had a miscarriage at 16 weeks (mostly like due to large fibroids I didn’t know I had until after getting pregnant) and I needed surgery to remove them.  I went to see Dr. Paupoo at the suggestion of my maternal-fetal medicine physician who explained that Dr. Paupoo specialized in fibroid removal and his surgical techniques would give me the best chance to preserve my fertility.  At my initial appointment with Dr. Paupoo, he was VERY thorough in gathering my medical history and my husband’s.  Removal of my fibroids proved to be difficult but I trusted that Dr. Paupoo’s ability would lead to a good outcome.  I continued to see Dr. Paupoo after I was given the green-light to begin trying to conceive, as he saw signs and symptoms that lead him to believe I would have a difficult time getting pregnant.  He was correct! He diagnosed me with PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome).  I had known for several years I was different hormonally somehow as I struggled with acne into my late 30’s as well as other symptoms that I had always (incorrectly) attributed to being on birth control.  Dr. Paupoo explained PCOS to me and the hormonal implications and how we would work with this diagnosis.  He also explained his reasoning and the medical evidence behind every treatment he wanted to try with me, but in the end it was always my decision what the final plan would be.  He is always open to suggestions I have and talks through them with me to explain the pros and cons based on medical literature.  Dr. Paupoo never seems rushed and makes me feel like I am his only priority when speaking with him.  He gave me his personal contact information so I could get hold of him with anything urgent. He is also willing to see challenging patients as he cares more about helping people than about his success rate stats. He won’t give up treating you if you want to continue treatment, but will give you his honest opinion if he believes it won’t work.

There's something that accompanies infertility that's seldom spoke about and that's depression, feelings of anxiety, and often the inability to get out of bed. I knew that when I saw a specialist if they didn't listen to me I was going to have to learn to live the rest of my life with it. The process to meet a specialist meant I was already in my 3rd year of infertility.

I remember my very first appointment to meet Dr. Paupoo. I fixed my hair and dressed up because in some ways this was the biggest interview of my life.  I remember how intently Dr. Paupoo listened and seemed to genuinely care. It was one of the first times I wasn't getting brushed off as a girl who couldn't patiently just wait to get pregnant. Through his listening and different tests, the help of my husband who confirmed my monthly pain was more serious than most women, I was diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis. I had surgery to remove it, performed by Dr. Paupoo. It was one of the first times this process changed my life, pain that I thought everyone experienced was suddenly gone.

It was still a 10 month journey to pregnancy, but in time I was blessed with a beautiful baby girl.

There are not words that I can say to adequately thank Dr. Paupoo, so I'll just recommend that if you are suffering with pain or infertility, if you know something just isn't right because you listen to your body, then do not hesitate to call. It just might change your life, like it did mine.

                My husband and I had been trying to conceive for four years.  The first two years, we tried mostly on our own, though while working with physicians.  At this point, we were referred to an OB doctor to start actual fertility treatments.  After two long years of this, we were finally referred to a fertility specialist.  This is how we first met Dr. Paupoo. 

            The start of any fertility treatment is difficult, as it of course involves lots of testing.  So, my first few visits were anything but fun, and at times were enough to make me want to give up.  Dr. Paupoo himself always seemed very knowledgeable, though blunt.  This was a little off-putting at times, too, but I would far prefer someone to be blunt and honest, rather than talk around the subject.  He was so confident that I would be able to have a child, I decided to press on. 

            During the treatments, unlike other doctors, who just left me to manage it all myself, Dr. Paupoo monitored it every step of the way.  He changed the fertility drug that I had been using to one with far less side effects.  I think what I liked most was that he didn’t just go off from what he saw, he listened to me as his patient, and trusted what I was telling him.  He was the first doctor to accurately diagnose me with endometriosis. 

            Dr. Paupoo recommended surgery to do what he could for the endometriosis.  I trusted his advice and had the surgery roughly now seven months after meeting him.  Of course, this meant taking a slight break, which turned into longer, due to a family emergency.  By this point, I was feeling pretty hopeless.  Dr. Paupoo however, was still extremely confident, so I pressed on. 

            Perhaps, things would have worked sooner, had I insisted on being pressed harder.  This, however, is not Dr. Paupoo’s style.  He’s not just trying to get you pregnant, but does his best to ensure that it is a healthy pregnancy.  Having multiples carries more risk, and pushing too hard can just waste eggs.  I’m glad that we took things slow and easy. 

            Two or three treatments later, about a year now after meeting Dr. Paupoo, we finally got the results we were looking for. I was absolutely stunned to find out that indeed, I was pregnant.  Of course, I worried as well, the first three months in pregnancy carry the greatest risk.  It eased my anxiety when Dr. Paupoo explained that he monitors you for the first few months.  He checks everything to make sure that it’s as healthy of a pregnancy as can be before referring you onto an OB doctor. 

            I am now 26 weeks pregnant with my miracle baby boy!  It felt like a lifetime, but in truth, it didn’t take very long after meeting Dr. Paupoo for this to happen.  I would highly recommend him to anyone having problems!

Dr. Paupoo truly saved my life. In 2015, I had the Essure coils put in because I could not take the birth control pill anymore due to another medical condition. I was told the Essure coils were a final birth control solution for me but I honestly did not know how the coils would turn out to be so evil. I should have researched more but I thought that the doctor who told me about them knew more and felt this would be the answer for me. Well turns out the coils were not the answer.  A few months after the coils were in, I had started noticing horrible side effects.  I was not told about the side effects from the physician who put in the coils or was never warned how dangerous the coils are. In May 2016, I tried to find a doctor in Omaha who would take the coils out but all the doctors I spoke with said I would have to have a total hysterectomy to remove them, which I did not want and I broke down and cried because I felt that my world was over as I finally realized that I would have no control as to whether I wanted to have a baby in the future on my own time. I heavily did some research and found the Essure Group of women who were in the same situation as myself. This group had a list of specific doctors in each state who know about the Essure coils and what they have done to thousands of other woman like myself. In that list I was lucky to find Dr. Paupoo who is the only doctor in the State of Nebraska that can safely remove the coils and where I don't have to have a full hysterectomy. At the end of 2016, Dr. Paupoo safely removed the coils and since the coils have been out of my body, I feel that I am back to my normal self. The difference is like night versus day. Without Dr. Paupoo, who knows if I could have died from the coils as there have been other women who have actually died from the coils. Dr. Paupoo was very understanding and I am so very thankful to him and for making me a whole person again. Thank you Dr. Paupoo.
